"In Piero della Francesca's land
following Leonardo da Vinci's map"
Immersed in the countryside of a land which extends
'intra Tevero et Arno' (between the Tiber and the Arno rivers), along tortuous roads wonderfully traced out on the map of the Valdichiana drawn from a bird's eye view by Leonardo da Vinci, we discover a landscape rich in fascination, lost in silence and the enchanted calm of an area speckled with churches, castles and hidden hermitages.
The places depicted by Piero della Francesca in his celebrated Resurrection of Christ and in the Battle of Constantine and Massenzio in the Legend of the True Cross suddenly open up before our eyes, they burst into life and we discover that they have hardly change since the time when the artist from Borgo San Sepolcro painted them and made them immortal.
"Valdichiana map"
Monterchi, Sansepolcro, Arezzo and Anghiari with the works of art and the views which they hold makes a very intensive stage in a journey of art history and nature, particularly appreciated by those who wish to discover the area in all its complexities.
